The command, _i_c_o_n_b_o_o_k_t_o_c_a_t_a_l_o_g, is for use internally by _i_c_o_n_c_a_t_a_l_o_g.
This program converts the pre-IRIX 6.3 format to post-IRIX 6.3 format.
In IRIX 6.2 and earlier releases, an iconbook page is represented by a
file and each line in the file represents an icon on that page. In IRIX
6.3 and later releases, an iconcatalog page is represented by a directory
and each symbolic link in that directory is an icon on that page. There
are user pages and system pages to be converted.
The system pages are converted at the end of the installation of IRIX
6.5. The files under /_u_s_r/_l_i_b/_i_c_o_n_b_o_o_k/_s_y_s_p_a_g_e_s are converted to
subdirectories under /_u_s_r/_l_i_b/_d_e_s_k_t_o_p/_i_c_o_n_c_a_t_a_l_o_g/_p_a_g_e_s/_C. The lines in
those files are converted to symbolic links inside those directories.
Then the iconbook directory is removed.
The user pages are converted when the user first launches iconcatalog
after IRIX 6.5 is installed. When iconcatalog is launched, it checks for
the existence of $_H_O_M_E/._d_e_s_k_t_o_p-<_h_o_s_t_n_a_m_e>/_i_c_o_n_c_a_t_a_l_o_g. If it does not
exist, and $_H_O_M_E/._d_e_s_k_t_o_p-<_h_o_s_t_n_a_m_e>/_i_c_o_n_b_o_o_k directory does, it calls
_i_c_o_n_b_o_o_k_t_o_c_a_t_a_l_o_g. This converts iconbook file formats and creates
subdirectories in $_H_O_M_E/._d_e_s_k_t_o_p-<_h_o_s_t_n_a_m_e>/_i_c_o_n_c_a_t_a_l_o_g/_p_a_g_e_s. Unlike
the conversion of system iconbook pages, the user's iconbook directory is
not removed. This allows a user with a home directory that is shared
between a pre-IRIX 6.3 and a post-IRIX 6.3 machine, to use both iconbook
and iconcatalog applications.
_i_c_o_n_b_o_o_k_t_o_c_a_t_a_l_o_g accepts the following options.
----ccccoooonnnnvvvveeeerrrrttttUUUUsssseeeerrrrPPPPaaaaggggeeeessss
This converts icon book user pages to iconcatalog user pages.
----ccccoooonnnnvvvveeeerrrrttttSSSSyyyysssstttteeeemmmmPPPPaaaaggggeeeessss
This converts icon book system pages to iconcatalog system pages.
For information about the entire IRIX Interactive Desktop environment,
see the IID(1) man page.
CCCCAAAAVVVVEEEEAAAATTTTSSSS
This executable is purely for internal use for iconcatalog to work
smoothly when upgrading from IRIX 6.2 and earlier releases to IRIX 6.5.
